Star Wars spellings

There's a chance you'll end up editing a "Star Wars" story, even if you're just not that into it.

Need to get up to speed? Read this primer from Slate.

I learned that Wookiee has two E's. Anakin has one N. And the planet Kashyyyk, which I'd never heard of, has a "fun" spelling.

I almost goofed Wookiee. We fixed it before sending the front.

I also sent a photo to work and called it "wookie." The scanner calls me immediately. "That's not a wookie," he says, outraged. "That's a stormtrooper!"

Of course, I can't be surprised this exists:

A databank of Star Wars creatures, ships, characters, droids and place names.

Might need to add this to the main entry.

Also, Christy, don't feel bad. A lot of papers have published it wrong.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, apparently proofreading is not a big concern in the Lucas universe. "A capital idea" would have been great for whomever wrote the screen-crawling introduction to have before he described the characters returning en masse to "the capitAl city!"
