AP style update
The AP Stylebook added a new entry:
home schooling (n.) home-schooled, home-schooler (adj.)Although the entry doesn't mention them, it's safe to assume that the verb is home-school and the noun home-schooler.
This follows the entry in Webster's New World College Dictionary.

Of course, if you're home-schooled, you have to spell it however mama tells ya too... ;)
