Note books
Copy editors besmirch bad puns, but we're remarkably good at coming up with them. Check out this list of book-band mash-ups and see if you can come up with any more.
Some of their ideas to get you going:
- The Things They Might Be Giants Carried
- The Who Moved My Cheese
- The Old Man and The Sea and Cake
- Charlie Daniels and the Chocolate Factory
- Catch 182
- Horton Hears a Hoobastank
- Of Mice and Men at Work
- Bare Naked Lunch Ladies
- The Agony and the XTC

Oh, I see. Puns are ok if WE come up with them, just not if those headline writers do. Hahaha -- kidding. These are great!

PS A subspecies of this type of pun is the "Jack Dannism," in which you combine a book title with its author in a punny way, e.g. "Contact Carl Sagan." Many possibilities there ...
It's actually "Barenaked Ladies." Sorry to be the stickler ...
So do you think "Barenaked Lunch Ladies" is better? I think the pun is lost there.
