Spelling Iraq cities
The AP Stylebook online has a section on Iraq city names, for consistency's sake. It deletes all prefixes (ad, al, an, etc.).

Question (because I'm new) should the heading be "Spelling Iraqi cities"?
Iraq or Iraqi is acceptable. Newspaper headlines often use the country name in adjectival form to save space.
